When it comes to comparison of the social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, comparisons really aren’t possible. As the saying goes, it would be much like comparing apples and oranges, but because we offered, here is how things stack up. While the two sites are vastly different in nature, one being more a social networking club, with many features the other does not have, some data can perhaps be compared. Website reach, traffic interaction and other factors all considered, it appears that Twitter is not going to stand up to Facebook.
Most Twitter users are on Facebook, but most Facebook users are not necessarily on Twitter. With a reach of more than 180 million people, Facebook probably has the further reach than Twitter does. Twitter however seems to be a much better indicator of what is popular. Followers on Twitter tend to be more open and vocal than those on Facebook do. There are more followers on Facebook to certain celebrities, but they are more interactive on Twitter than they are on Facebook, taking a more active part in discussion on Twitter.
The two types of networking are vastly different. Should Twitter bring out some of the features that Facebook offers, as well as institute the gaming and capacity for longer messages, there is a chance that it could fare well in the Twitter vs Facebook faceoff. As it stands, Facebook seems to be quite a lot more popular and more far reaching than Twitter, although Twitter does seem to get people talking more.
